Megan Korst,  BA, BS, MS, MHP, LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Biology and went on to complete my Master of Science in Psychology at Eastern Washington University. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist. I am also in the process of completing Child Centered Play Therapy Certification. I enjoy providing guided mindfulness meditations, as I feel they are a way for a person to learn relaxation, while also gaining awareness into their thoughts, emotions and feelings in a compassionate, non judgmental way.  I meet with children, adolescents and adults.

I strive to provide a space where you can feel accepted for who you are and to work along side you during this time of change. I begin by establishing a working relationship and communicating through verbal and non-verbal language that you are safe to be who you are. I focus on compassion and mindfulness and ensure an ethical practice.

I work hard to stay up to date with research, evidence-based interventions, and to continuously educate myself with trainings. I was driven throughout my education to understand as much as I could and with a main focus on the ability to apply that information. I continue to be driven to understand interventions for my clients. I attend trainings regularly and complete certifications in order to gain more knowledge and information to help my clients.

I also focus on my own healthy balance in life, as I believe my health is imperative towards providing you with my best counseling abilities. I do this through practicing skills daily, which isn’t always easy, as I know it can be difficult to implement new skills too.

Finally, I enjoy gardening, spending time with family and pets, and being outside. Connecting with the earth is a way for me to stay balanced. This may or may not be the approach for you, and I am excited to understand what is going to be most beneficial for you.
